I’ve been trying to photograph these tomatoes FOR DAYS. They are for a feature in our 2012 issue…the rain hasn’t been kind to the plants, and without sun, things aren’t getting so ripe on the vine. The solution: take some harvested shots.
It’s the end of the work day, I’m home from the office and doing a shoot in my kitchen. I have a tripod and cable release, to reduce camera shake on this overcast dark day. And yes, I’m using one of my cutting boards as a reflector card. This is my happy place.

Thanks! I may post the final picture in a different blog entry–it turns out (as it sometimes does) that this tomato gets even RIPER with a combo of red and green on the inside…so back to the drawing board. But it was still a fun shoot day.
